Clinton: Shared Prosperity Should Replace 'On Your Own' Society
MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) -- Presidential hopeful Hillary Rodham Clinton outlined a broad economic vision Tuesday, saying it's time to replace an "on your own" society with one based on shared responsibility and prosperity.

The Democratic senator said what the Bush administration touts as an ownership society really is an "on your own" society that has widened the gap between rich and poor.

"I prefer a 'we're all in it together' society," she said. "I believe our government can once again work for all Americans. It can promote the great American tradition of opportunity for all and special privileges for none."

That means pairing growth with fairness, she said, to ensure that the middle-class succeeds in the global economy, not just corporate CEOs.

"There is no greater force for economic growth than free markets. But markets work best with rules that promote our values, protect our workers and give all people a chance to succeed," she said. "Fairness doesn't just happen. It requires the right government policies."

Clinton spoke at the Manchester School of Technology, which trains high school students for careers in the construction, automotive, graphic arts and other industries. The school highlighted one of the nine goals she outlined: increasing support for alternative schools and community colleges.

"We have sent a message to our young people that if you don't go to college ... that you're thought less of in America. We have to stop this," she said.

Beyond education, Clinton said she would reduce special breaks for corporations, eliminate tax incentives for companies that ship jobs overseas and open up CEO pay to greater public scrutiny.

Clinton also said she would help people save more money by expanding and simplifying the earned income tax credit; create new jobs by pursuing energy independence; and ensure that every American has affordable health insurance.

Beyond education, Clinton said she would reduce special breaks for corporations, eliminate tax incentives for companies that ship jobs overseas and open up CEO pay to greater public scrutiny.

In 1965, the average corporate chief executive earned 24 times as much as the average worker, she said. By 2005, it was 262 times as much. In the last six years, productivity has increased, but family incomes have gone down, she said, leading to rising inequality and pessimism in the work force.

"It's not as if America hasn't been successful these last six years, but the measure of success does not relate to what's happening in households across our country," she said. "It's like trickle down economics, without the trickle."

Amnesty, by any other name, is still amnesty

Fantastic article - spot on!

Amnesty By Any Other Name Is Still Amnesty

"If this legislation passes, I won't blame Democrats, I'll blame the Republicans and will leave the party to become an independent voter. The Democrats are doing what we expect them to do, what they always do - try to destroy the country. The Republicans are supposed to preserve our country and protect it from the socialist/commie Dems. The question now is - will they?"

Bush sells out America

Agreeing with the President’s policy on Iraq doesn’t mean one agrees with the manner in which he has followed through in completing this policy. But, leave it to liberals to assume that an agreement in the policy means an agreement in EVERYTHING this man does because, it does not. In fact, it pisses me off the way Bush has sold out a win in Iraq and our integrity by not doing what it takes to secure a win in Iraq. Surely, the greatest military in the force is perfectly capable of doing what we set out to do in Iraq so what is the problem, Mr. President? Could it be political correctness standing in your way? Hell, at this point, you’re already being chastised as being a war-mongering idiot who started a pre-emptive war against a country who was of no harm to us, so why not do what it takes to win? At this point, what do you have to lose? The mission was a no-brainer. Saddam was in violation of almost EVERY condition agreed upon after the Gulf War – he bragged about having WMD and every nation believed he had them (including our own congress) – congress overwhelmingly voted “yes” to go into Iraq because they believed Saddam was a threat to our nation and that democracy in the area was the only way to curb Islamic fundie governments in the region. It was a brilliant plan that obviously wasn’t that well planned out. Unfortunately, it is plain to see that it will have to be another President that will finish what President Bush started. I do believe, however, that history will tell us that Bush’s Iraq plan was the RIGHT plan to have, at the time. A plan that was different than the appeasement route that has plagued our government throughout the 80’s and 90’s. A plan that could have worked, if Bush had only been a bit stronger – a bit bolder.

The recent immigration debacle is telling of a President that is broken and weak. His performance and disregard at this point is not only sad – it’s unpatriotic to the core. He sold us out. He bartered the safety of our children, for political folly and hopes of winning more Mexicanemerican votes. It was all for politics, ladies and gents. Bush just snipped the very thin thread of integrity that he had left from his own party and, in my opinion, can dangle in the wind, for all I care.

“It's a disaster for national security, for keeping Islamist jihadists out of the country, for exploding the costs of Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, for preserving the rule of law, and for that quaint principle called national sovereignty. From the details that have leaked out thus far, the legislation, which provides amnesty for nearly all of the 12 million (or maybe even 20 million) illegal aliens already here, would swell the size of the welfare state in a way we haven't seen since Lyndon Johnson imposed his Great Society on us four decades ago. Sen. Jeff Sessions, the Alabama Republican who is likely to lead the fight to save the nation from this disaster, and Robert Rector of the Heritage Foundation will reveal at a press conference this morning the details of just how expensive it will be. We're talking trillions of dollars -- that's not millions or even billions -- over the next several decades.” Washington Times Editorial

It’s a sad day for America.

Bull Moose America!!!

I was given a link to Bull Moose America, and I have to tell you, it is the only website I've seen, thus far, that reflects EXACTLY what myself, and the majority of American's, are thinking about our government.

It's brand-spanking new but I see it growing beyond anything offered on the internet today. Please, visit and get on board, if it's something you believe in.

I love Jon Voight!

Apparently, Hollyweird hasn't gotten to him! Anyone see him on Scarborough? Here's the transcript: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18574754/

------------------------------------------------------------

VOIGHT: Can I get very serious, Joe, at this time?

SCARBOROUGH: I wish you would.

VOIGHT: My heart is very heavy, and I‘m really terrified by what is happening to our great nation. Our country is being divided by extremists who really believe all the propaganda that they are being fed on a daily basis by very cunning professionals.

I mean, here we have American people in this country, in this city, in D.C., defacing our president, calling him unthinkable names. And what is the agenda for which they are doing this? And I find it‘s just to bring their party to power.

And these people that—and I‘m stepping way into something now—but these people who are wanting to rule with this aspect of technique have no real answer as to how they‘re going to do it, as witnessed by Nancy Pelosi‘s trip recently. And the real sad part is that they don‘t realize that they‘re feeding the enemy all the nutrients that they need to destroy us.

We‘re engaged with a serious enemy here. And we seem to have forgotten about 9/11. I‘m sure the families haven‘t forgotten. So it‘s a very serious—you know, it‘s a very serious time. And maybe it‘s this film that‘s brought me into real research about what the enemy really is, the face of the enemy that we‘re facing today, and it‘s stirring many things in me.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

SCARBOROUGH: No doubt about that. My thanks to Jon Voight. His new film, “September Dawn,” opens next month. You‘re going to want to see that.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He and Robert Duval have my utmost respect. They have not allowed Hollyweird to get their claws into them and use common sense and reason in life. Hats off to both of them!

Not your typical Conservative SAHM is sitting before you. I own no paisley dresses nor do I drive a mini van. My husband, Mike, is not a fat, balding, NRA member - regardless of what liberals want you believe is the epitome of a "Republican Man". In fact, as I type this, I wear my low-rise blue jeans, Keds tennis shoes and AC/DC Back in Black concert T-shirt (because it's the most comfy shirt I own - plus, they rock) and struggle at deciding whether I should actually create this page or get some much needed groceries. Just to clear the air about who I am, I'm a conservative SAHM. Meaning, I do not work outside the home. This was a conscious choice on my part. After years of working, my husband and I decided that staying home to raise our two children would be the best parenting role I could play, in a God-less world full of hatred and division. Giving them a stable environment is something we felt was a necessity in raising kids in our society. I have no animosity towards women who choose to work. In fact, I did work for the first few years of our marriage.

Just to make things perfectly clear about who I am, let me start by painting a picture for you on what my life is like.

1. I'm a Republican, with most of my belief system being conservative in nature.

2. I'm a conservative, but not the "Conservative Stepford Wife" that most "progressives" want you to believe. I love rock music. It's in my soul. In fact, when Mike and I were first married he played drums in a bar band. I use almost every obscenity in the English language. I drink on occassion, although not regularly. I do not smoke but did in the past. I have control of most of our finances and pay all the bills. Most times, Mike doesn't even know how much money he gets paid each month. We make all major financial decisions together. I have 2 children and have no intentions of having more. Sorry, no "barefoot and pregnant agenda" in this household. But, if I were to get pregnant, I certainly would not murder my child simply because it doesn't jive with my lifestyle.

3. I watch the news constantly. I read every political article I stumble across. I'm informed and I vote.

4. I believe the only way to heaven is through Jesus Christ. But, I also am respectful to others who do not believe what I do. I do not judge and, quite frankly, am not going to try to pursuade others to be "saved". I know, many will say that I'm not a true Christian if I don't try to save others but I believe we're all responsible for our own souls. I've raised my children with Christ's teachings but did not raise them to impose their beliefs on anyone else. Free will is a beautiful thing.

5. I believe there is a left wing socialist movement in this country. A minority of liberal moonbats, that are hell-bent on "progressing" this country and it's citizens, into a "collectivest one-world society". Bill Clinton admitted as much when he during his acceptance speech and gave special thanks to Dr. Carroll Quigley as being someone who influenced him and his political views. Don't believe me? Then you're not
paying attention. In my opinion, this movement is the largest threat that exists in our country today. The progressive movement has infiltrated our government, our public school system and our media. Nearly everything you see on TV or read in the newspaper has been altered to fit the progressive agenda. And, no I'm not some conspiracy whack-job. Anyone that pays attention to the news and has even the tiniest knowledge of what used to make this country great, can see this. American's are dependant on believeing anything and everything we see on the evening news. But, what most American's are unaware of, is who they're actually getting their news from and what manner this "news" has been reported to them. They could care less who their source is and most take what they hear at face value and believe it to be truth.
So, in a nutshell, I created this page as a way to express my conservative mom opinion on current news events and to expose the progressive agenda to America. I expect to get many negative comments here because progressives are afraid of being exposed for what they really are. They are not content, sitting back and allowing others with opposing viewpoints, to express them. In fact, they pretty much have committed to destroying those who expose them. I will not edit any comments I receive, being the "Freedom of Speech" junkie, I am. So, fire away. :)
